Training Area & Ranges
Arizona’s near perfect year-round weather enables the state to have multiple training locations for all branches of military service and up to battalion sized elements.
Papago Park Military Reservation (PPMR) was originally established as Camp Papago on April 21, 1930 by Public Law 92 of the 71st Congress.
There is 5000 sq. ft. consisting of 6 offices ranging in size from 250 sq. ft. to 1000 sq. ft., a 2000 sq. ft. storage/supply area and a conference room.
The primary objective of the Detachment is to further the operational training of Republic of Singapore Air Force’s Apache Squadron by tapping the operational and maintenance expertise of the U.S. Army in Apache operations. The permanent Peace Vanguard Detachment facilitates continuation training, joint operations, composite force helicopter development and promote closer bilateral ties between the RSAF and the U.S. Army.
Silverbell Army Heliport is located in Red Rock, AZ at the Pinal Airpark and is home to the Western Army Aviation Training Site WAATS, AASF #2 and other AZNG subordinate units.
Florence Military Reservation (FMR) is a Arizona Army National Guard Training Site located in Florence, AZ.
