Operations and Coordination
The Operations and Coordination is responsible for the timely analysis of natural and man-made hazards, recovery operations and regional coordinator support during emergency events.
Operations and Coordination provides real-time awareness and monitoring of incidents and response activities within the State of Arizona and FEMA Region IX, coordinates activities related to recovery operations and provides regional liaisons to our county and tribal partners.
The Operations and Coordination Section is divided into 4 branches: response; recovery; technological hazards; logistics and mutual aid.

The Response Branch is the coordination point for the state’s response and support efforts to the impacted counties and tribes through the allocation of state resources.
The Recovery Branch is responsible for providing leadership when assisting communities, individuals, families and businesses responding to and recovering from disaster damages.

The Logistics Branch provides high quality logistical and communications support during the day-to-day operations of DEMA.

The Technological Hazards Branch coordinates the comprehensive preparedness and consequence management programs to address the complexities of technological hazards.
