Please understand that Camp Navajo is a National Guard base with extremely limited manning and high demand for services. ID/DEERS is staffed by drilling guard Soldier(s) that may be called to duty on short notice, or participating in Unit Training Assemblies. Allow ample time for personnel to respond to your request.

The department covers 28,473 acres (44.9 square miles) of heavily forested land. Our department works closely with our surrounding community and provides emergency and non emergency services to the National Weather Service and Arizona Department of Veterans Service on Camp Navajo.

The Camp Navajo Security Department's mission is to provide professional services by establishing and maintaining an active community partnership in identifying and solving problems that will improve the quality of employment and training for all Camp Navajo staff, tenet units, transient units and visitors and to safeguard the lives and property of the people we serve.

Support the accomplishments of Camp Navajo and the Arizona Training Center Garrison mission by promoting a safe and healthy culture that recognizes and prevents injury and illnesses associated with workplace hazards, with the belief that all workplace incidents are preventable.

The goal of the forestry program is to manage forests to sustain military readiness and improve the diversity of conditions available for soldier training. Forest resiliency and function will be restored by moving toward re-establishment of historic forest structure, pattern, and composition. 

Construction Facilities Management Office (CFMO) provides action and oversight for sustainment, restoration and modernization (SRM) work, including self-help by troop units and other State ARNG activities and tenants (including private sector entities) to ensure technical sufficiency and compliance with statutes, regulations, and the State’s Real Property Development Plan; is the sole source of work classification for all work accomplished on all State facilities.

Storage space is available for all types of items effective 2022. Car/Trucks, Motorcycle, 4-Wheel/Off-Road, Motorhomes, Boats, Travel Trailer and Storage Trailerer/Containers will open to storage at Camp Navajo. 

Camp Navajo is a military training site and therefore several rules and requirements apply at Camp Navajo that hunters would not encounter in other hunt area. Training is the priority at Camp Navajo and at any given time land authorized for hunting may be deemed not available due to units training in the area or other mission requirements.

For children under 12 years of age, there is no charge for Space A lodging

We ask that patrons be very cautious about properly disposing of trash, as well as watching children and pets closely, because of predatory animals on Camp Navajo.

Permits for Personal Use Firewood Cutting at Camp Navajo area available from the Environmental Office to authorized participants.
