Joseph R. Pollock

LT Joseph Pollock, Cyber Joint Task Force Assistant Team Chief, has more than 15 years of combined experience as a Soldier, Cybersecurity Operator, and as an IT Manager. His research interests include IT Curriculum, Human Computer Interaction, and Virtual Private Networks. He is working towards his Doctorates in Information Technology from Capella University. He currently holds a Master of Science degree in Cybersecurity from Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska. Additionally Joseph holds two separate Bachelor of Science degrees from Bellevue University, one in Security Management and the other in Cybersecurity. Joseph holds the following certifications directly related to the cyber career field: Project+, Network+, Security+, CEH, CPT, CISA, CISSP, CISSP-ISSEP, GDSA, and GCIH. Joseph has a passion to serve his country and to be a member of our nation’s great Army, as a Cyber branch officer. As a cyber officer with the Arizona Army National Guard, Joseph is directly responsible for the mission success of his team. Within this capacity Joseph serves as the Vulnerability Assessment and Incident Response Manager. He has responded to several incidents across the State of Arizona and is currently involved with vulnerability management activities with dozens of State, Local, Tribunal, and Territorial (SLTT) organizations. In his free time Joseph likes to take his dog, a miniature poodle named Bunny, for walks and hikes along the numerous trails in the greater phoenix metro area.

LT Pollock has served in the Army since 2007. LT Pollock served six years on active duty including time at Fort Bragg in the 82nd Airborne Division, whom he deployed with to Afghanistan in 2009/2010. In 2013 LT Pollock switched to the guard from active duty without a break in service. LT Pollock has served in the Nebraska and New York National Guards prior to coming to Arizona. Military schools attended include the following: WLC (Distinguished Honor Grad), ALC (Commandants List), OCS (Distinguished Honor Grad/Erickson Trophy Recipient), Cyber BOLC (Honor Grad). It is LT Pollock’s passion to serve his country, the great State of Arizona, and to be a member of our nation’s Army.
