CW5 James “Jym" Gullett enlisted in the United States Army on 10 March 1994, where he served as an Infantry Rifleman and M240G Gunner in Bravo Company 2nd 75th Ranger Regiment. While serving in the Ranger Regiment he was deployed numerous times as part of the Army's Global Response Force. Specialist Gullett earned his Expert Infantry Badge while serving in the Regiment. In September of 1998 Mr. Gullett was assessed into Warrant Officer Candidate School, Ft Rucker, Alabama.  He graduated first in his class in U.S. Army Rotary Wing Primary Flight School, as well as the AH-64A Aircraft Qualification Course. Mr. Gullett's assignments include; A co, 3-101 Avn. Regt., Ft Campbell, KY as an AH-64A Pilot in Command / A troop, 3-6 CAV as an AH-64A Maintenance-Test Pilot, Camp Humphries Korea  / R troop, 3rd ACR, Ft Carson, CO. as an AH-64A Maintenance-Test Pilot / 602nd ASB, Camp Humphries, Korea as an AH-64 A/D Maintenance Test Pilot and Maintenance Examiner / United States Army Center of Excellence, Ft. Rucker, Al. as an AH-64D Maintenance Examiner , AH64D MTPC Platoon Leader, AH64D AQC Instructor Pilot/ Platoon Leader.

CW5 Gullett resigned from the Active component 30 June 2008 and joined the North Carolina National Guard 1 July 2008. CW5 Gullett served as a Maintenance Examiner, Maintenance Test pilot, Instructor pilot as well as Production Control Officer, Battalion Maintenance Officer and Detachment Commander for the 1-130 Attack Reconnaissance Battalion. CW5 Gullett transferred to the Arizona Army National Guard 1 May 2017.  CW5 Gullet has served as the State Maintenance Officer/ 98th ATC Brigade Aviation Maintenance Officer as well as CWOB/Commander, Detachment 31 OSS-a, Detachment 4, A/2-641 (C-12)/ Senior Aviation Maintenance advisor USAFTD Peace Vanguard Detachment. ​
