PHOENIX - October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month, which the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) says is meant “to engage and educate the public and private sector partners… in raising awareness about cyber security and increasing the resiliency of the nation in the event of a cyber incident.”

PHOENIX -- Emergencies begin and end at a local level. Any person involved in emergency management and response understands this. However, sometimes emergencies stress local resources and outside assistance is needed. When this happens, the local jurisdiction will look to their mutual aid partners.

August monsoonal floods struck areas of Maricopa County quite hard, leaving damage behind. Flash floods roared through neighborhoods in New River and south Phoenix, tearing down brick walls, rushing through houses, destroying foundations and property.
