Command Sergeant Major Scott Flint, assumed responsibility as the 12th State Command Sergeant Major for the Arizona Army National Guard (AZ ARNG) on July 10, 2020. He advises the Assistant Adjutant General Army on all enlisted-related matters, particularly in areas affecting Soldier training and quality of life for Soldiers and their families.

Command Sgt. Maj. Scott Flint was born in Paynesville Minnesota. He joined the MN Army National Guard after graduating high school in 1989 and completed One Station Unit Training (OSUT) as an Infantryman (11H) at Fort Benning, Georgia. Flint moved to Tucson AZ in 1997 joining the Arizona Army National Guard. He was assigned to B Battery 2-180th FA. After a MOS change to 13B he became an ammo team chief and a gun chief, 2002 Regional Training Center as 13B and NCOES instructor. In 2006, he was assigned as first sergeant of HHB 1-180th FA, he served as first of all three line companies in the 1-158th Infantry Regiment, during that time deployed as first of B Company 1-158th Infantry Regiment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Upon his return from mobilization, he was assigned as Operation Sergeant Major of the 1-158th Infantry Regiment, Flint was assigned as the 158th Maneuver Enhancement Brigades’ Operation SGM. In 2013, he served as the 850th Military Police Battalion CSM. In 2015, he was assigned as the 158th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade CSM. Flint recently completed a tour as the Arizona Training Center Garrison CSM. Concurrently since 1999 working full time on the Arizona Counterdrug program, NCOIC of the Ground Reconnaissance Team and the Senior Enlisted Advisor. 

Flint's awards and decorations consist of the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge.

Flint has completed all levels of Noncommissioned Officer Education System professional military education. He is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy. Flint's operational deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Flint is married to the former Casey Darris. They reside in Tucson, Arizona with their children Titan and Jadyn.
